Inside the campus where I studied in the PH was the International Center–a dormitory for international students. Across the IC was an arcade (now defunct) with a restaurant owned by an enterprising Pakistani student–and that’s where I first tasted lassi. It was out-of-this-world! But my tastebuds said it’s just yogurt, milk, sugar and fruit–so that’s how I’ve been making it since! Recently I asked my friend “A” if I’ve been doing it right, and she said “Yes!”
Ingredients:
4 heaping tablespoons of natural yogurt (I actually used a serving spoon)
1/2 tbsp sugar
1 banana (you can also opt for other fruits)
milk to top up (i.e., to make a glass)
Procedure:
1. Blend yogurt, sugar and banana in a food processor.
2. Add milk and blend again.
3. Pour into a glass and serve.
I’ve had the mango lassi, but must give banana a try. Blessings! 🍌
Hi Gail, I make and love mango lassi too 🙂 Have a lovely weekend ☀🌊🎣
Can I be your new best friend?! 😜
LOL, you should get to taste mango from the Philippines–the “carabao” variety (Mangifera indica var. carabao)–the sweetest in the world (and they smell like flowers too). It’s everyone’s favourite–locals, expats and visitors alike. 😋😋😋
I’m drooling already! 😜
