Holiday fare

What have you been enjoying this season?  There is a price war between UK supermarkets, and common vegetables (parsnips, carrots, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli) were as low as 20p–to 5p per kg by Christmas eve.

So we’ve been making vegetable chips!  These are potatoes, carrots and parsnips cut into chips, then quickly fried in goose fat before sticking them into the oven (between 20-30 minutes at 180C, and switched to grill in the last 5 minutes just to brown a little).

Also, I’ve made arroz valenciana, chicken macaroni salad, and marshmallows.
