How do you make your pizza?
We couldn’t perfect the dough before, until we learned that we should not use a rolling pin, but just needed to pull and stretch the dough. Also, the best dough recipe for pizza that we’ve tried so far is the same we use for our naan.
So after preparing and shaping the dough (square for us), we blind bake it for 5-10 minutes in an oven pre-heated to 180C (Note: when we use naan dough, we skip this process). We then spread a thin coat of tomato puree on top, then add our toppings (onions and capsicum would also have been quick fried first in olive oil), and any or a variety of cheeses (usually mozzarella/cheddar), a sprinkling of salt and pepper, and finished with a drizzling of olive oil. It is then baked again in a pre-heated oven (180C) for 15-20 minutes.
